The Acorn Centre is a charity that offers counselling and support for men and women involved in pregnancy-related concerns – from infertility issues to coping with an unexpected pregnancy.

We also offer a comprehensive counselling service for bereavement following pregnancy and give support to those coping with postnatal depression.

We operate throughout Warwickshire and our Centre is based in Nuneaton. In addition to face to face sessions we are also able to offer virtual counselling appointments.

The majority of our team are volunteers and include fully-qualified counsellors who hold a Diploma in Counselling or trainee counsellors who are on placement with us and have completed our in-house training course and hold a certificate in counselling skills.

It is a basic requirement that all volunteers and paid staff attend supervision consistent with BACP guidelines. This is offered internally to all volunteers and we also offer external supervision.

We are committed to improving the standard of our services whether it is the structure of our organisation or care for our volunteers to recognised standards.

The charity was founded in Nuneaton in 1995 and our trustees have a Christian faith. Our team includes people from various faiths and we support people from all cultures and faiths.

The Acorn Centre is not a medical centre and requests for medical help are referred to either local doctors or family planning clinics.
