Counselling Fees

The Acorn Centre aims to keep costs as low as possible so we can make our services accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Each session costs £20.00, which reflects the basic costs of providing our service but assistance with the fee may be available for those who need it (see below). The £20.00 fee includes room hire, supervision for the counsellor, insurance and basic administration costs.

Our service is provided by volunteers who have all attained or are near completion of their Level 4 Diplomas in Therapeutic Counselling and receive regular ongoing support and supervision.

Assistance with fees

People from lower income households or those in receipt of certain benefits can apply for assistance with fees. Evidence will need to be provided of your income or benefit to access assistance from our draw-down fund. The price of the counselling fee based on income is outlined below:*

  • People earning £15,000 or below pay: £15.00

  • People earning £12,500 or below pay: £13.00

  • People in receipt of benefits pay: £6.00

* Please note assistance can only be provided while we have available funds to draw down as we are a not-for-profit charity.

You may come for one counselling session or more and this can be agreed on your first visit.

We will arrange appointments to suit you. If you would like more information or would like to talk to someone on the phone, then call us on 02476 381878.
